The Gruffalo - Christmas Trail
Twycross Zoo - December 2024
For Christmas 2024, we collaborated with Twycross Zoo to produce an immersive festive trail through their Julia Donaldson-themed area. Guests enjoyed magical encounters with beloved characters like The Gruffalo, a heartwarming Father Christmas show, marshmallow toasting, and festive crafting.
Laughing Bulldog led the full production by designing, building, and managing the experience from start to finish. We partnered with Magic Light and coordinated multiple contractors to transform the site with Christmas trees, snow flocking, and atmospheric lighting.
A highlight was our original, interactive Santa show, which blended conservation messaging with live music, games, and audience interaction, delivering both joy and purpose.
The event was a resounding success, receiving outstanding guest feedback and becoming the highest-rated event in the zoo’s history.
Easter 2025
Knowsley Safari Park - April 2025
For Easter 2025, we partnered with the team at Knowsley Safari to elevate the visitor experience across the Foot Safari during the Easter holidays. Laughing Bulldog was proud to design, produce, install, and manage a family-friendly event that brought seasonal magic to life. At the heart of the celebration was the Easter Bunny’s Burrow—an immersive, themed space where families could meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy interactive storytime sessions, or take part in engaging, sustainable craft workshops. The Burrow was beautifully decorated to reflect the spirit of Easter, with friendly staff in character costumes adding to the enchantment.
In addition to the Burrow, guests could enjoy an educational, interactive Easter trail throughout the safari. Each participant received a custom-designed map from Laughing Bulldog, guiding them to various animal enclosures. At each stop, they’d collect letters by reading fun facts. Once they solved the mystery word, they earned a certificate and a delicious Easter treat!
Trick or Treat Trail
Twycross Zoo - October 2024
For Halloween 2024, we teamed up with Twycross Zoo to create an interactive Trick or Treat Trail with conservation at its core. The brief: design a fun, educational experience where guests interact with actors across the zoo. We delivered a trail of seven themed stations, each developed by Laughing Bulldog and hosted by costumed performers like the Poo Keeper and Zoo Chef.
Guests engaged in playful activities such as smell pots and water games, all woven with conservation messaging. Each station ended with a themed question, correct answers earned a treat, while incorrect ones brought a light-hearted trick (and still a treat!).
Sustainable, palm-oil free animal-themed chocolates were given throughout, and the experience concluded with a short show reminding guests that even spooky animals deserve our protection. Working closely with the zoo’s education team, we ensured content was age-appropriate, on-brand, and packed with purpose.
